A challenge with buckets and spades
Every year the beaches of Alassio host Castelli di Sabbia, a sand castle building contest for all ages where all you need is a bucket and spade.
If you have ever been to Alassio, you will know that the beaches here are perfect for making sand castles: all it takes is a bit of digging and plenty of imagination.
The tournament is free to enter for any customer of one of our pay beaches, with no age limits.
The only limit is your imagination! You can create anything you want with one condition: you only use natural materials from the beach (sand, shells, seaweed, etc.). The “construction sites” open in the morning and must be completed by early afternoon before the inspection by the judges.
Trofeo Città di Alassio – Castelli di sabbia
The most beautiful and original creation will be awarded the Trofeo Città di Alassio – Castelli di Sabbia, a trophy which is kept by the beach club until the next event, and is then passed on to the next winner. In addition to the trophy, there are many special prizes up for grabs. May the best sand castle win!
