Budello is the beating heart of our town.
This picturesque carruggio, a typical Ligurian street, runs parallel to the coast and both sides of this paved street are lined with shops of all kinds, bars and patisseries where you can try the famous Baci di Alassio biscuits.
It is a joy just to wander around Budello with no particular destination, glimpsing views of the sea between the elegant buildings interspersed with old fishing cottages.
If you love shopping then this is the place to indulge yourself, strolling through the Shopping District just a short walk from the beach.
In 1953 Mario Berrino began decorating a little wall, or Muretto, opposite Caffè Roma, creating an open-air art installation which continues to constantly evolve.
La Cappelletta is one of our favourite viewpoints perched just above the waves. It offers truly incredible views over the Baia del Sole.
The Coscia Tower was built in the 16th century to defend our town against invaders coming from the sea. One of only a few such towers still standing, it seems to still be protecting us.
Throughout our history, Alassio has been very popular with the English as a destination for holidays and more.
Alassio boasts a great number of churches in a wide range of architectural styles reflecting different periods of history.
