I am 31, I grew up in Alassio and I still live here. For many years, I have had a passion hiking and photography, two activities which have helped me to discover new places and the unique parts of my beloved homeland.
If you didn’t already know, the hills above Alassio are well worth a visit. The trail I am recommending is a really beautiful route from Alassio to Laigueglia via Moglio, the Pisan Tower and Poggio Brea hill.
The trail starts in the city and climbs northwards until it reaches the old village of Moglio. We continue along the route to the Pisan Tower, one of my favourite places because of the wonderful views it offers, and then Poggio Brea hill, a panoramic point with benches and tables, the ideal spot to take a break and admire the scenery.
My favourite time of year to visit these places is autumn, when the rich, golden colours make the views even more beautiful. If your visit to Alassio coincides with the foliage season then this route is even better.
The Alta Via Baia del Sole offers a lot of alternatives because it connects with many other paths, so you can decide how far you want to walk. You can start in Molgio or from nearby Garlenda and still connect with the Alta Via. Whatever your choice, one thing is certain: the views over the bay from up there are truly incredible!
